2024 BILLS
We seek the passage of legislation that will ban, or substantially reduce, nonessential helicopter use over the NY/NJ metropolitan area.
NYC Council Bill Int. 26-2024: Will ban nonessential flights at the two NYC-owned heliports.
It prohibits all nonessential, non-electric helicopter operations at heliports owned or operated by NYC. This would immediately remove 40,000 nonessential flights from our skies.
NYC Council Bill Int. 70-2024: Will ban nonessential flights at the two NYC-owned heliports.
It prohibits all nonessential helicopter operations at heliports owned or operated by NYC. This would immediately remove 40,000 nonessential flights from our skies.
New York State Legislature Bills S7216/A7638: Will establish a noise tax on nonessential helicopter flights originating in NYC. The tax is currently proposed to be $150 per seat.
Tax revenue would help fund the New York State Environmental Protection Fund. The bill passed the Senate in the 2023-2024 session.
